MELBOURNE, August 2024: For the first time in a very long time, ARIA Award-winning music-maker Clare Bowditch is pulling out her guitar for a series of intimate and unique shows on the east coast of Australia throughout September. This entertaining and delightful night will feature all of Clare’s classics, as well as a preview of her new album, with a selection of brand-new songs and reflections on what it means to be here and still kicking on in the year 2024. As usual, you’re all invited to sing along (if you feel like it*).
Clare’s impact on the Australian music industry cannot be overstated. Over the last few decades, she has evolved as a musician, broadcaster, occasional actor, speaker, entrepreneur, and a top-ten best-selling author. She has won the coveted ARIA Award for Best Female Artist, as well as the Rolling Stone Woman of the Year Award for her contribution to Australian culture. She has toured and performed at every festival, venue, and truck stop Australia has to offer and has played with the likes of Leonard Cohen, Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins, Gotye, and John Butler, to name just a few.
Clare said, “It’s been a really long time since I’ve had the gumption to pack my guitar case and string together a few shows worth of new songs in a row. I don’t really know why – I guess it was mainly just... life? Or maybe it was that at the start of my career as a touring musician, I was also a mum for the first time, and after ten years of touring and raising kids, I was pretty tired and ready for a tour break. Then... it just went on a bit longer than planned? Who knows, but these are all things we can discuss when we’re sitting in the room together on our Evening Adventure... or not? Let’s work it out when we get there. Gotta admit I am very excited / slightly terrified to know what you think of my new songs too...”
An Evening Adventure with Clare Bowditch will perform throughout September in select venues across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
